The cylinder was made of high-quality
steel, which allows it endure the friction caused by the piston head. In
order to regulate high temperatures arising during a gearbox’s operation, the
cylinder was covered with special cooling notches.

The inside of the cylinder is polished
so as to stabilize the muzzle velocity and improve the tightness of the system.
