The R4-M is a mostly metal, new version of the long and well known submachine gun replica. Thanks to used materials the replica is heavy and solid. Whole body with pistol grip, stock bars, RIS rails and small elements like flash hider, operators and iron sights are made from metal. Other elements like stock butt pad, front vertical grip and magazine are made from polymer.
The replica features folding front hand grip and RIS mounting rails, allowing installation of various additional accessories. One of the replica advantages is undoubtedly compact size – with stock folded it is little more than 360mm long. It makes the R4 a perfect weapon for CQB engagements and a good sidearm with fine firepower.
The replica is powered by standard AEP gearbox, well known from other replica of the same manufacturer, the R4 SMG. R4 is powered by accumulator stored above the barrel and can be fired in both single and fully automatic fire modes. The replica comes with polymer low-cap type magazine with capacity of 190 bb’s.
