Description
BK909EQ2 Telescope
One of the most popular astronomical
telescopes in its price range. BK909EQ2 is a 90
millimeter achromatic refractor installed on a EQ2 equatorial mount. The capabilities of this telescope in
regard to its price are quite substantial. At a diameter of 90 mm it is a
telescope that can manage a little more than standard models with a diameter of
70 mm. An increased star magnitude limit and better resolution allow for
noticing of more objects with better image quality. It is a telescope with focal ratio of f/10 and a focal length of 900
mm. It is equipped with a 6×30 finder scope that is comfortable to use and
worth recommending especially to younger observers that value comfort and ease
of use. The tube is installed on a EQ2
equatorial mount. This mount allows for comfortable tracking of objects (it is
also possible to mount an optional electric drive).
BK909EQ2
telescope is a classic achromatic refractor. It is equipped with a 90 mm in
diameter and 900 mm focal length lens eyepiece. The focal ration equals to
f/10. It is a typical achromatic double made of two elements with various
refractive indexes, covered with anti-reflective coatings. From the focuser, in the optical axis, is a 90 degrees diagonal
mirror, 2 Kellner eyepieces with a focal length of 10
mm and 25 mm as well as a Barlow lens.
The telescope is installed on a EQ2 equatorial mount. It is a construction
slightly sturdier and heavier than a basic EQ1 mount, guaranteeing a good
stability in the case of a telescope of this size. An equatorial mount is a
construction intended typical for astronomical observation. Mount axes are
inclined in such a way so that one of the axes is directed towards the
celestial pole, near the Polar star. When correctly set, objects in the sky
move in the field of view in a way that allows for their tracking within one
axis, without having to make corrections in the second axis. Two types of
motors allowing for the tracking of the celestial sphere can be connected to
the mount. The first one, with a lower precision
is a so-called economic drive for EQ2. The second one, much more precise and
with greater capabilities, is a single axis drive for EQ2 mount.
The telescope is equipped with a focuser in a
1.25” standard. It is a gear focuser (so-called Rack&Pinion
focuser). This focuser has a mount with a mounting screw for a diagonal mirror
at its end. A 90 degrees diagonal mirror in a 1.25” standard is included in the
set. The focuser is compatible with drives for Sky-Watcher focusers.
The structure of sunspots (with an
appropriate filter), small creations on the Moon – larger than 2 km, additional
belts on Jupiter, subtle details on the belts, moon shadows on a planet during
a transition, Cassini division in Saturn’s rings, in good conditions 4-5 moons
of that planet. Uranus is visible as a small shield in large magnification,
Neptune as a dot.
Around 1.1 mln
stars in the whole sky, with a star magnitude limit of 11.5 – 12, double and
multiple stars separated from each other diagonally no more than 1.5”.
Dozens of globular clusters, emission
nebulas, planetary nebulas and galaxies, all Messier objects and brighter NGC
objects (details visible in many of the brighter objects) majority of galaxies continue to remain blurry
spots.
The set includes:
- 1.25” – Super
25, Super 10 eyepiece - 6×30
finder scope - 90o 1.25”
diagonal mirror - achromatic
Barlow 2x 1.25” lens
